Woodside Press is proud to announce the 1999 publication of a custom-boxed selection of wood engravings by the New York City artist June Paris.

These eight exquisitely detailed engravings are printed directly from the artist's hand-cut boxwood blocks on dampened Magnani Pescia mould-made paper. The portfolio also includes a title sheet bearing the artist's new logotype commissioned for Woodside Press in honor of the press's fifth year and its relocation to the historic Brooklyn Navy Yard. The specially designed hand-built box is lined with an elegant new pattern paper by Ms. Paris.

Originally from Sussex, England, Ms. Paris studied painting in London at the Camberwell School of Art and gravitated to wood engraving as a master's degree candidate at City College of New York. Her work has been exhibited regularly in the greater New York area, elsewhere in the United States, and in England. She taught printmaking as a member of the faculty at Bronx Community College and has given an influential series of wood engraving classes for Bowne & Co., Stationers, at the South Street Seaport Museum.

All wood engravings in the portfolio are signed and numbered by the artist in an edition of 125. The cost of the portfolio is $200US.
